Wigan Athletic owner, Dave Whelan advised the Latics manager Roberto Martinez against making a move to Anfield, following Kenny Dalglish’s ouster from the managerial seat.
The 61-year old Scott was sacked by Liverpool’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 based owners, as a result of the Reds abysmal performance in the Premier League. The Merseyside team lost their final game of the season against Swansea City to finish the table at the eighth place;
their lowest standing in 18 years.
Following the Scott’s expulsion, the rumour mill has been in overdrive over the matter of the selection of the new manager at Anfield.

However, the Wigan owner believes that the Spaniard’s move away from the DW Stadium will be a folly. He was of the opinion that despite boosting an illustrious history and an enormous club stature, Liverpool has lately become a grim place and likened them
with a ‘morgue’.
He told the reporters, “The club have great supporters, but the place is a morgue, a desolate place, without heart; all I can say is what a shame for their supporters.”
He also mentioned that the Reds reported interest in his manager is understandable, as lately he has drawn interest from a number of Premier League outfits.
Nevertheless, Whelan mentioned that no formal approach has been made towards him as yet, and that he will not impede the Spaniard’s move to Liverpool if he desires to leave Wigan.
He continued, “If http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 thought he could go to another club because that club was so big and the challenge so great he couldn't resist it, then I would step aside and let him, but I wouldn't think he should go to Liverpool, he would be better off with
us.”
The Englishman was also critical of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s decision of axing Dalglish and believed that the person of his stature should be appointed as the chairman of the club.
He also criticized the management structure at Anfield and felt that it needs a complete overhauling.
