When, where, by whom was American football created? ?

When & where was American football first invented & by whom? Were the rules dramatically different than today? Were footballs the same shape & texture? Thank you.

Walter Camp took what was a variation of Rugby and he added the line of scrimmage and the down yardage system. Eventually the foreword pass was established. Apparently american football was established among the ivy league schools.

Football was created in Southern Cali or south downtown L.A.  It was USC created Football!!

Football was invented by walter camp in the early 20s. He invented it after watching soccer and rugby.  The rules were almost similar and the footballs were alittle bit thinner and made out of a pigskin leather material. Look up Walter Camp on google and all ur answers will be there.
