  1. the mocha was invented inadvertantly by a man named John Mocha.  he was walking down the street one day enjoying his fresh brewed coffee when he accidentally bumped into this beautiful woman who was eating a chocolate bar.  somehow during the collision the womans chocolate bar fell into his coffee.  after apologizing profusely to each other their eyes locked and he took a sip of his coffee.  it was love at first sight/taste.  and they all lived happily ever after...

  2. Quatre is right about Mocha being a type of coffee grown in Yemen, the actual brew tasted like chocolate mixed in with it.

Most likely the chocolate coffee was developed by someone in Italy. A lot of the espresso drinks we know about now originated from there.

  3. I dunno who made that drink however, the name comes from a coastal town named Mocha in Yemen. It is also the name of a variety of arabica beans that taste like chocolate
