I need to know the steps to figure this out. I can't find anything close in my textbook to plug the figures in. I don't even need the actual answer if someone can show me how to set up the equation. Thanks!

  1. the 9560 kJ is the amount of heat (energy)

we can change it to kilocals:

    9560 kJ @ 1 Kcal/ 4.184 kJ = 2285 kilocalories

& we can divide eithe by 100.0 grams to get the heat released per gram
