When's Centrepoint No Fills opening? And are you happy about it?

I live in the area and I've always been upset that there's no No Frills close by. It's amazing actually. The closest one to me is Don Mills and Finch!

There used to be one on Yonge, just south of Finch, but it was torn down a couple years ago to make way for more condos.

And do you think a new one will go up in that area where the new condos are going up? Maybe one could be built in a new condo complex.

I'm just so happy that the Loblaw is turning into a No Frills. That means basically the same foods but at better prices. Yum!

next ..........March !

Went there 2 weeks ago and to my surprise there were almost no cars in the parking lot. Saw that the whole of Loblaws was closed ???? . I asked a shopkeeper and that was  told.

In the meantime I am not too sure what is going to happen. There were not many people at all and the food court was SURPRISE ! almost empty. Lots of businesses are going to be hurt big time that is for sure and might go bankrupt.

Now is the time to hunt for bargains there I would say.

There might not be a No Frills at all for all we know. Lots of big businesses have folded down (Chapters almost next to it) recently in that area.

I never liked No Frills but Loblaws is still cheaper than Dominion. I do not know why it closed down but have noticed that it was getting more and more "fancy" : lots of aisles with vitamins, teas...etc when you could get the goods cheaper in other stores in the complex. And steadily reducing the amount of "bulk food" , water, everyday food sold at a much cheaper price : 6 cans of tuna together, etc etc..

Maybe only condos...........

True, No Frills does sell the same food as Loblaws being as they are the same company, but you will find that the selection will not be as varied, and the produce will be smaller and of a bit lesser quality.
