  1. hi, I have just sent my parents on a trip to Peru. Actually they returned in December. I booked them with a company caled Llama Travel who are fantastic and very helpful. They put together a 3 week itinerary taking in everything that my parents wanted to see from the trek to a canopy walk in the amazon ( which by all accoutns was breathtaking ) they also stayed on a beach for the last few days to recover from the climb. Llama travel recommended October November as a good time to go.

As a travel agent myself I would highly recommend this company as they were totally professional and very helpful both here in the UK and out in Peru.

They give you all the advice you need before you travel and there is always someone there should you need any help whilst you are out there.

    visit www.llamatravel.com or call 0207 263 3000

    have a great trip

  2. September would be O.K.  I've been in July two times, and it was fine.

Be sure to make a reservation far in advance if you want to hike the Inca Trail.  Good beaches in the north.

Also, check out some of the other areas:  Trujillo, Chiclayo and Cajamarca in the North;  Nazca and Arequipa in the South. If you're into trekking, go to Huaraz and explore the mountains.

You have plenty of time to see a lot of the country,

  3. about 9.27 am

    EDIT- Not American.

  4. Now is the best time to visit Peru, up mid-April. It will be summer there, but its not sweltering heat so it's nice.

As for the inca trail, it is best to avoid shcool holiday times where more people are likely to be going (they have restricted visits to 200 about tourists a day, but as long as you go with a travel company you'll be fine)

I have included a website that you can visit, it has lots of information on what to get up to inPeru, inc. the '10 top atractions'

    http://www.visitperu.com/#1

this is also a good website:

    http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldguide/p...

    and as for the beaches:

    http://www.andeantravelweb.com/peru/adve...

those are the best in Peru, and the best in Lima are about an hour's drive south of Lima (check travel organisers, they will have more info)

There are beaches in Lima of course, but like i say the best are a bit further away.

Hope you enjoy your holiday :D

    and take lots of pictures!

  5. You'll find that the beaches are not willing to climb all these mountains in their high heels.

  6. Well, I would think that summer is a good time to go (which is winter, here in the states) So I suggest maybe you go around now, beaches are beautiful, and the Andes woudn't be as cold as in June (winter there)
