  1. Hey Dan,

I tend to rebalance my Index portfolio (made up of ETFs and Index Funds) about twice a year, that's my "core" portfolio. For my non-core I have several growth oriented investments and a few value plays. Those can change much more often since Growth and Value investing strategies are active rather than passive strategies. Turnover really depends on your strategy and how strictly you adhere to it. If you want to learn more about investing strategies there's a good introduction to all of the major ones at http://www.money-and-investing.com/Stock...  I would personally recommend Index Investing, low maintenance (less stress!) and you're guaranteed the market return or better depending on your diversification and asset allocation. There's a good guide at http://www.money-and-investing.com/Best-...

Good luck and post back here often to tell us how you're portfolio is growing. (-:

    Cheers!

  2. i just bought a lot of stuff this summer since everything is so cheap, but i'm not gonna change anything for about 4-5years, until I feel it's about maxed, even if it's still growing. I rebalance with new cash funds during the year as I get paychecks.
