  1. i dont really take much care in what old ladies think about

  2. Barbara Bush isnt very smart...I wouldnt listen to anything she says really

  3. I don't know. I sometimes have found myself using the term "those people" or "you people", and meant no offense by it, and maybe Barbara Bush meant no offense either. However, I do think those terms tend to depersonalize the folks being referred to and make them feel more like objects than people. When people are experiencing trauma and tragedy in their lives they are often more sensitive to how others treat them, so then it would be good for the rest of us to display more empathy and compassion toward them by speaking respectfully toward them or about them.

  4. haha have you seen "tropic thunder?" that movies so funny!

  5. black people.

    sick, isn't it?

  6. Maybe she meant "those people living in Houston who used to live in New Orleans". Tough question.

  7. Those people = Katrina evacuees

What do you think she meant?

  8. Most Lazy first Lady we ever Had !

She was truly The First Lazy !

  9. What do YOU mean "those people"?

Edit: Apparently Pink P hasn't seen Tropic Thunder LOL

  10. She meant 'those people" as if they were the scum of the earth.  Forgetting that the environment that 'those people' were in was a poor excuse of Taking care of your own.  They came from all walks of life.  I met some of them in Atlanta, who were teachers, and City workers, and Professionals, as well as working Citizens.

Her term was deemed derogatory in the sense that she was implying that the Stadium in all of its decadence was better than their own homes. Poor does not  mean "nothing".  I would trust the economy with a man who was poor and managed well without much, than one who is privileged and still doesn't understand the economy or how to manage his own money.  Something about the struggle that creates Character that is seldom found in the privileged.

  11. It is amazing how much more efficiently the government reacts to a disaster during an election year.

  12. Katrina evacuees.

It's good practice to take people at 'face value' rather than let your own mind run away with itself and wind up being prejudiced.

  13. the people president Bush didn't give a d**n about

he showed up late and poorly managed the disaster like he didn't really care. one of the worst presidents in history

McCain = more of the same

  14. What else are they, 'cattle'?

  15. Pure essential propaganda of the Republican Party. How fitting on the third anniversary of Katrina that the GOP Conventions occurs. Does America have a true memory?

  16. What are you getting at?  What do YOU mean - "those people".  She meant the people being evacuated.

Why does everything have to be turned around.  Can't people just speak anymore without someone analyzing the "terms" that were said.

I hate "those people" that can't let "those issues" go.
