I am planning to purchase my first dslr, the nikon d40.

I've been doing research and surfing through different sites for a reasonable price.

I found a Nikon D40, 6.1 Megapixel, SLR, Digital Camera w/ 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor Autofocus Lens Kit, for only $345.00.

I would like to know, does anyone know if it comes with the Nikon Camera Strap (Neck), The Battery & Battery Charger, SD Card, etc.

Yes, I am a NOOB at this, lol, i admit it.

That's why I need your help desperately.

Please Repond Soon :]

*****P.S*****

Here's The Site Where I Found The Price For It,

Also, Is This A Legit Site?

Sorry For All The Questions,

I Just Want To Be Secured And Well Informed Before I Make My Purchase :]

  1. Do not buy from this site.    Nor buy from any site that offers kits without the charger or manual...  this is how they make more money out of you... not to mention ... if the camera is not designated a USA Warranty... you are out of luck for ever getting it fixed or updated by Nikon or Canon.   When you find a kit... first of all see that it has the USA Warranty.. then the contents should include  Camera - charger - battery - software - strap - cables for computer or TV - either one or two lenses with front and back caps and warranty cards.   Don't fall for a couple of memory cards, tripod or other accessories that you will have to get....  but not on the first day.   Stay Safe and listen to all of the good advice you have gotten with this question.

  2. You might want to check out this site regarding cameraaddict.com's reputation:

    http://www.complaintsboard.com/?search=c...

  3. It is probably a gray market camera and will NOT come with all the standard Nikon components.  If they include "free" extras like a case, cheap tripod and lens cleaning kit, they are more apt to be a gray market camera.

The best price at this time for that "kit" is found on Amazon for just under $470 ...

    http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-Digital-18-5...

Avoid all Internet stores that are not advertising in the popular photography magazines ... you can check that in your local bookstore.  Amazon, Adorama, B&H Photo and Ritz are but four good ones

  4. I have bought 2 different camera kits from Canon. Both of these kits came with everything you need except a memory card.As far as straps, batteries and a recharger they were included in the kits.

As far as the site goes I don't know anything about them.I have used B&H Photo many many times and was very happy with them heres a link to them. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/

I did look at the D40 at B&H and it was considerably more than $345.B&H's price was $470 which makes me a little concerned about the price at the site you gave us.B&H  usually has the lowest prices whenever I have compared them against other sites. For them to be so much higher on the D40 is very odd to me.

If you can verify that the site is legit that is a very good price .

    Good luck to you.
