  1. Do you have the Dad or did you acquire her pregnant?

You need to remove any baby males at 21 days. You can keep any females in longer.

  2. All of the people that posted before me are WRONG.

Any male piggies need to be separated from the mum by 3 weeks old (21 days) or you risk pregnancy. Any males should also be separated from any sisters in the litter or you chance pregnancy with them also.

Males become sexually mature at 21 days old. Females are able to conceive at 28 days old.

The pups will begin eating solid pellets and hay within 24 hours after birth, but will need to nurse from the mum for three weeks.

  3. seperate the babys when they are at least 6 weeks of age

  4. 6 weeks would be the recommended time. They need their mother's milk and without it will die.

  5. Listen to Justified. Also, read this page/links: http://www.guinealynx.info/reproduction_...

You'll find them very helpful. ;)

  6. It's 3 weeks. I bought a pregnant guinea pig by accident and the books say 3 because at 3 weeks a male child can impregnate the mother, which is horrible inbreeding and the close pregnancy could kill the pig. I took my babies to the pet store and they sexed them and I kept the girl with their mother and gave away the boy.

PS because you don't know if she's pregnant I'll tell you what my guinea pig looked like. Guinea pigs are supposed to be slim but Angel (my pig) was all wonky at the end/middle of her. About a week before the birth you could see her stomach moving. And the day before they were really moving. I wasn't there for the birth I was at a Taco Party and when I came home I looked in the cage and a black guinea pig was staring at me. Angel was light brown. I had three piglets, but one died. I gave away both babies, but one of the owners was allergic so I got the girl one back. To be sure of the pregnancy you can take her to the vet.

  7. No!

The babies need to stay with the mother for at least 6 weeks.

  8. When they have stopped returning to their mother for suckling.  Make sure they are eating solid food (grass and pallets).  This is about 3 - 4 weeks after birth.
