How old were you when you found out that wrestlers didnt really hate each other and the matches were choreographed?

Lets admit it we all thought it was real at some stage of our lives until someone told us. I was 11 or 12 years old I think.

PS:This is not an attack on WWE or any other company. Im still a fan of Raw,Smackdown and ECW and watch them every week and all WWE PPVs.

  3. When the Giant joined the NWO. I hated them, and wanted to cry cause I loved the Giant. However, when Hulk Hogan came out and beat the c**p out of Randy Savage, also joining the NWO I laughed!

  4. I've known since the beginning.  My older brother told me so that I didn't think that I could do that stuff without getting hurt.  It around 6 or 7.

  5. I was told by my father that it was acting and choreographed moves as a child. But like most of you, I REFUSED to believe it was not real fighting. Then it happened. I will never forget that one day.....1987 Wrestlemania III. When I saw Hulk Hogan body slam Andre' the Giant, I could not believe my eyes.. A 520lb man getting slammed by a younger, more athletic body builder??? It was incredible, and too good to be true.

  6. wen i was 9 wen i saw my first wrestling match on tv live : ( fake as h**l

  7. I always knew it was fake.

  8. i was bout 9ish

  9. Watch any Hogan match and you would realize that it was fake from the opening bell.   All of his matches are the same!  The worst part was the "hulking up" no-sell finger wave.

  10. I know since I was very young, I dont remember who told me but it made sense. My dad is a wrestling fanatic and he would never admit its fake, though he knows it but he is a dreamy person, and imaginative.

  11. I was 9. I read about it in People's Magazine lol.

  12. I dont remember how old I was but it was when I saw the program in the early 90's on how they would cut themselves and protect themselves with the moves they do. I will still watch it till the day I die, no matter how fake it is.

  13. when i was 8

  14. I found out it was fake when I tried the same moves and ending up busting a kids face open.  Then I knew if I could hurt somebody at my size and weight, then those monsters should be dripping in blood and bruises.  I think that I was 10.  It is still fun to watch on occasion, but I am not a regular fan today.  I have too much other stuff to keep track of, but there was a time when I followed them all the time and watched PPV events.

  15. when i used to watch it, my guess is a few years ago...

  16. when I was about 13 I believe

  17. I was 10 i think...i was so upset when my Dad told me. I really didn't believe him but i got over it and i read all the books and stuff and i see it. I do get really mad when people say it's fake. My dad will point out sometimes when they are gigging...but yeah i was 10

  18. I was fortunate enough to come up in a time where the world was slowly realizing wrestling was fake with me.  Believe it or not, the idea of wrestling being staged never hit the fans until around the mid-to-late 80's.  Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there were plenty of people who thought it was fake before then, but it hadn't become a well known fact until some of McMahon's legal troubles came up in a court of law in the first steroid witch hunt, where I think his major defense was that pro wrestling wasn't a real sport.  I may be a bit shifty on my facts and chronology, but I do recall being around the age of 7 when people started calling it fake universally.  I defended it and fought it for a long time, and then admitted it to myself, although it wasn't probably until I was 12 or so when I fully listened to the voices of reason, and not until the internet was developed in the late 90's until I realized that there were more interesting things going on backstage than there were in front of the camera.

  19. I still haven't learned yet (and never will).

  20. I have no idea. Its still just as interesting as when I thought it was real though. However, there are some companies where the wrestling is real, such as Ring of Honor.

  21. when i was 8 and told my mom i want to be a pro wrestler and she told me its staged.. but i still want to be a wrestler

  22. Santa told me when I was about 6 or 7, I think.  But the Easter Bunny said that Santa was lying.  Since I like Santa better, I believed him.

  23. when i first started out. my dad told me its just for entertainment and they are not really fighting.i really didnt care, it wasnt a big deal for me

i thought it was real until i saw my first match, cus my dad didnt want me tryin any of the moves

  24. i forgot what age i was back then but it was when i read the interview with The Rock regarding his movie then he said something like "yeah, its all choreographed". but i didn't really stop watching it. it still is entertaining. haha.

  25. When i was 12 yrs old :)
