  1. If you have the inflatable type pool you need to take it down once you are no longer using it. Store it in a dry place like a basement of garage if possible. I recommend to sprinkle the pool with baking soda once you have cleaned it then fold it as neatly as you can. The baking soda helps it from sticking together and seams to ward off mice etc.. from snacking on it over the winter. If you have a more permeate pool with metal walls you can leave it up all your. You will need to winterize and cover it properly . Keep and eye on it over the winter, don't let the cover fill with leaves and water. Opening the pool for spring depends on the weather and the amount of trees.  If you have lots of flowering trees, it's best to wait until the flowers fall. This can be a maintenance nightmare trying to keep the pool and skimmer clear, and it's potentially damaging to the pump if you don't keep the flow of water to the pump constant. Ther are many discount pool supply sources. Walmart an Target are good but tend to have a very limited selection. Look on-line also there are a lot of choices try www.everything4pools.com. EBay can be very good also.

  2. We just put ours up today! We usually leave it up all year, just cover it for winter, but we moved in December, so we had to take it down. When we put it up this time we dug down almost 3 feet & buried it halfway in the ground. It looks great & it will be easier to get in & out of & easier to clean too we hope. We put it in the back corner of our yard, because thats where we get the sun at the longest & the hottest part of the day. We get a lot of our accessories at Walmart & Kmart. The most important thing is to keep the chemicals balanced. You should have a kit to test your water, it will tell you what you need to put in it & how much. And don't ever dive in, or jump in, from the side, or off the ladder, you can colapse the pool! Have fun!!
