Me and my boyfriend are going down to New Jersey next week and we have to stay in a hotel, the thing is that I'm not 21 and he is so we have to check in with his name, but he doesn't have any credit cards cuz his credit sucks but I do. Would they take mine or would it have to be in his name since he's checking us in? Any suggestions for a situation like this?

  1. no you don't. also, they just hold it and you can even use a different method of paying when you check out. i've used my daughters card alot because i don't own a credit card. so go for it and enjoy your vacation

  2. They will take yours if you will be one of the occupants, and you can change the payment to check, cash, etc upon check out.

Also, if you want someone who will not be an occupant to secure the reservation and pay for the room, many hotels will work with you via fax.

  3. The credit card should belong to someone staying in the room - it should be ok.

  4. Do you have to hold the reservation? If not, register in his name and he pays but use your card, they should take it.

Are you of statutory rape age?

  5. When I check somone in I ask for their credit card and ID. If the cards belong to someone under 21, then I tell them good bye. What you can do is request a credit card auth form. Fill it out and give it to your boyfriend when he checks in. That way the front desk knows that someone else's credit card is going to be paying for the room...Oh, and if the front desk asks if anyone else is staying in the room, just have him say no.
