You're assuming the athletes accept the invitation, Gordon isn't going to be Prime Minister in 2012 and the ladies will have some episodes of Eastenders to catch up on while the gentlemen have missed the start of the football season.

As priorities go tea and scones with Gordon or an open bus ride with Boris probably aren't very high on the things to do list :0)

No, Gordon as Prime Minister is duty bound to meet the athletes on behalf of the public, and next year when an election is called Gordon will be returned to Downing St. albeit with a reduced majority as no one in there right mind would vote for that utter gonk David Cameron
