When it became a fashion. I guess it became so popular because no one wore V- necks at the time.  Next, you'll see B - necks. Oh God, what has happened to this world?

It was just after U-necks went out of style, but a couple of weeks before W-necks came in to fashion.  And it was WAY after the F-necks were in style.  We try not to talk about those.
