  1. no, kids have a low attention span

  2. It all depends on whether or not they behave in those situations. If they're loud for respect of the other customers, NO. Plus its gonna cost a ton with kids and 5 star prices. Plus it will be a nice night out for you and your spouse. Take advantage of a nice fancy date night!

  3. Don't do it unless you wan't the whole restaurant to complain about those little ankle biters.

  4. If they are too young to learn....then no. But, if they can behave then you need to take them along so they can learn how to act at a five star.

  5. Touchy. If they are well bahaved yes. But its overpriced food that they wouldn't like anyways.

  6. I wouldn't take a child any younger than 10 to 12 to a five star restaurant. the overwhelming majority of young children just don't appreciate  a restaurant of that standard and are just as happy at  a MacDonalds. I

  7. A 5 star restaurant?  Well, first of all, unless you are in Las

Vegas, you will probably need a reservation up to 6 months in advance.  The atmosphere is really not great for young children.

I never had any problem with my children, even by age 6 they knew what they wanted to eat, both of them liked to have salads and knew exactly what kind of dressing they wanted and what dessert they wanted.  They were well behaved. 3 star was our limit for them.  It was a treat for all of us.  Now, on the other hand, I have a serious problem with my grandchildren a 6 yr old & 9 year old.  They run around & disturb other patrons, blow straws wherever they feel like, knock over glasses, (one time when their other grandparents were also present the tablecover had to be replaced that was after 3 glasses of soda had been knocked over) and after they order food decide they don't want it & start picking off everyone else's plate.  This year I decided it was too upsetting for me and decided not to eat out  with the children until things improved immensely.  Strange, it upsets my daughter too but her husband thinks they are wonderful & can do no wrong (they are wonderful in so very many ways but this behaviour doesn't just seem to be right  and  I've seen other children do similar things).  I don't want to upset their family because he thinks I'm out of step with the times.

I think they need Nanny 911 not their grandmother.

Although I don't think young children should go to a 5 star restaurant, they are your children and I think you must decide here.  Do you want an evening to remember - or do you want an evening you will never forget.

If you wish to treat the children perhaps lunch at their favourite place would be great and get a childcare person to take care of them in the evening while you go out.  If you are travelling the fine hotels can provide childcare for you.

I wish you a lovely evening regardless of when it happens and in the meantime, have a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.

  8. depends on how mature and well self behaved they are

  9. depends on how young they are

  10. no, not the best idea.  5 stars= nice calm meal, quiet.  besides, they wouldn't be able to appreciate the food.

  11. No, the kids would probably rather eat at Mcdonalds so why serve them food they can't appreciate?

  12. They should be able to enjoy fine dining like mom and dad.  My kids get pretty crazy at any resturant no matter how many stars its has.  So it is your decision.  Mine are 2 and 4 and like I said they are crazy at all resturants.

  13. Only if they have a preferred wine and can discuss Kierkgaard.

  14. no,,,,drop them off at taco bell beforehand and pick them up a couple hours later

  15. Only if they are really well behaved and controllable.

  16. are they well-behaved?  then sure.  if you are in doubt, no.

  17. Only if they are extremly well behaved and have table manners you wouldnt mind showing off to the president, I work at a casual dining resturant and there is a woman and her husband that come in with their 6 children ages 8 on down to 8 months She could take them to a five star, I onced saw her tell them to put their coloring pages down and sit quietly till they all had ordered they imediatly set their crayons and pages down sat quietly while she went around the table and asked them each what they would like to eat, the only one to drink from a sippy cup was the 8 month old, there was no food on the floor they ate quietly , cleanly and had table manners better than alot of adults I have seen eat there. So if your children could do this then yes take them.
