Question:

When I'm in London?!?

I have many questions!!!! First, is there a tube ticket that is for multiple rides, e.g. for a week or sth like that(or a bus ticket of that type)? Next, where in London can I eat and drink but not spend a lot? Also, are there sales? I've heard that there are sales in July, and I'm coming on Saturday, staying 5 days, and would really like to buy some clothes... Those buses with open roofs? Are they really good for sightseeing, and is it cheaper to buy tickets personally or by an agency... Any other information on spending quality time while in London would be really useful... Thanks :)))

oh, right, I'm staying at Royal National... Is it okay?

  1. Get a travelcard, zones 1-2 are okay, but if you really want to explore get 1-6. The busses are good, but the london duck.....www.londonducktours.co.uk.....i... fantastic!

The travelcard gives you unlimited travel on busses, tubes and the DLR (a bit like a tram)

Go to camden for cheap clothes, or just anywhere else around north london.....

    dont forget a map!

  2. you can buy a travelcard either for a day or for a period of time ... look at http://www.londontoolkit.com/briefing/un... ... you'll probably need the travelcard for Zones 1 and 2

eat and drink ... instead of eating in a place on the main tourist routes, get off round the back streets and try and find the cafes the locals use ... or pick up drinks and snacks in a supermarket ... those trendy cafes look great but you get thru the money really fast

yes, there's always sales, just follow the signs

the open top buses are great for sightseeing ... such as www.theoriginaltour.com and www.bigbustours.com ... absolutely no need to buy tickets in advance, best to buy when you get here as then you can be flexible about when you want to do it ... I'd recommend you stay on the bus and do all the routes (plus the river trip which some of them offer) then go back by regular public transport to visit the places you want to see in more depth

the tube is the best way to get around ... the map is at
