Question:

When I'm on the internet, my cursor changes into a hand (not pointing). How to get rid of it?

This only happens when I open my internet browser. The cursor changes into a hand, and it stays like that the whole time I'm on the internet, not just when on a link. When I click, the hand "grabs" the page and allows me to scroll, but that's all it's good for. It won't allow me to highlight text anymore. It's really quite annoying.

How do I change it back to the original cursor (the white pointer)?

  1. windows??

go into the control panel for the mouse and change your settings.

  2. Ditto, go into Control Panel select Mouse and change what mouse pointer you want to use. It is that easy.

  3. I HAVE THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION BECAUSE I HAD THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM.

At the top right corner of internet explorer, there's a menu bar. There's several pictures for printing, returning to a home page, and one of those pictures is  a picture of the hand cursor. Click that to de-select the hand cursor and return to normal.

This has nothing to do with control panel.

  4. Hi, I don' use IE but I would like to think that if you contacted them they would be able to help you out.If that doesn't work, call your Internet Service Provider and ask them to help you figure it out. This may just be an update thing but it could be something else. I just had a problem with the browser that I mainly use but I had a back up browser ready so that I could still stay on the computer. I called the maker of my computer and they helped me get back my normal browser. I hope that I have been of some kind of help and given you options to figure out this problem. My best to you and peace  out!
