Question:

When I'm so stressed out, I can't stop crying over every small thing?

What should I do when I'm already stressed out? I become so tense, that I overreact to everything, and find myself bursting into tears at random. It was relieving the first couple of times, but it really becomes tiring and mentally exhausting. Can anyone explain why this happens? Thanks.

  1. Listen to music, not loud, hard rock or anything and relax. Try telling someone you trust about why you are (try and see why you are). Or, maybe write it down, like a diary

  2. It happens to me when I'm sad and won't admit to myself why and deal with it. I've had that problem for years. I cry over stupid stuff and don't let myself cry over the real problems. I think it's a childhood thing for me. My mom used to brag to other mothers that I was a wonderful kid and never cried, I was proud that I wouldn't cry when I got hurt. I'm starting to deal with my real problems now and cry less over the silly stuff but sometimes I regress anyway. The other day I cried over Sarah Palin's speech but not over the fight I had with my bf.

  3. Could be bi-polar or a personality disorder.  I would consult a physician for proper diagnosis and any needed treatment

  4. What happens when you shake up a bottle of root beer?

    It fizzes and overflows!

Why?   To release the excessive internal pressure of gasses created through the stress of shaking.

Why do you cry or become angry when you are over-stressed?

Your emotions are spilling over the top to release the excessive internal pressures created through your stress.

While we are each individuals, and deal with stress in our individual manner, the principle is the same.   Too much stress is more than we can handle.  Rather than imploding in a "nervous breakdown" or a serious depression, we let the pressure of the stressful emotions "blow off steam" or "melt down in tears".  Becoming tense and over-reacting is more of the same thing, part of your emotional "safety valve"

Yes, it is exhausting in itself, as well as embarrassing.    But, this is a natural, normal, healthy thing that is happening with you.

    How can you avoid it?

Do your best to lower and manage your stress.  Plan and study ahead of "crunch time" at the end of a semester.  Even in your busiest of days, reserve a little time just to be quiet or to do something that you like.   Some of your stress can be released through writing and keeping a journal - using words to express your feelings, even the ones you feel no one else would understand.

  5. Don't worry I'm exactly like that,

I'm a 15 yr. old girl (not pregnant)

and i think its just STRESS STRESS stress

With all the homework, tests, and caring about what people say and do.

    I'm exactly like you,

like the other day I cried so hard just cuz my dog pee on my floor lol.

the way i solved the problem:

i FORCED myself to have fun with my friends, stop thinking about everything at once and just let go.

At first you probably wouldn't want to even step outside your house but you gotta force yourself and just be optimistic even though its hard, than you'll just get the hang of it and loosen up without even noticing it.

(i don't think there's ANYTHING wrong with you)

I didnt need therapist/pyschiatrist/ pyschology, etc. to solve this problem

At the time where I had this problem, I searched online what was wrong with me too, and I saw this thing 9i cant remember) but it said that all teenagers (12-18-ishh)

suffer from some form of depression, (ours isnt severe)

Just follow my advice for a couple of days and than

    BAMM!

    your gonna fine :]

  6. Well, how old are you and how long has this been happening?  Also, are you male or female?  This could be a hormonal thing, and/or it could be an anxiety disorder.  Neither one is all that bad so long as you accept it for what it is.  You are not crazy.  It's just a condition and it can be treated, like any health thing.  Is it possible that you are pregnant?  This happens to me a lot too.  It's a warning sign and you are alert to it, so that is good.  Get to a dr when you can.  Good luck!

  7. PMS?

  8. Do you have alot going on in your life ?

Maybe the things that you are keeping to yourself , you tend to let them out when the little things happen .

You hold it in so long , that the smallest thing will break you and then you let it out .

    =/
