I cannot control how they look or move, although I have tried. I find it's better to just let go and watch. Has there been any research on interpreting the meaning, if any, of these patterns? Is there a name for this?

If this is happening with eyes open then I think it could possibly be something to do with migraine. (even though you might not have a headache).

With eyes closed then something else entirely.
