When I 'wake up" my computer it asks me to pick an account to use.

I recently installed XP and I have my comp set to go to sleep if no activity happens in 15 minutes. But every time I wake it back up, I have to choose an account user to be able to use it. Is there a setting where I can just wake it up and allow me to use it without having it to ask me to choose an account?

I am the only user on this computer.

  1. If you're the only user on that computer, then delete the other users' profiles, so you don't have that problem anymore :-).

Although I'm running Vista now, you should be able to do that under control panel, settings, user accounts  - or something similar.

  2. I think, you were able to solve the problem of that choosing accounts. To remove the password prompt:

    >> Right click on desktop.

    >> Properties>ScreenSaver tab.

    >> Monitor Power section: Power button, click on it.

    >> Advanced tab.

    >>  Uncheck the 'Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby.'

    >> OK.

    >> Apply then again OK.

    Hope this solves the problem.
