  1. I got a RAW viewing plug in, which allowed me to view them in the windows picture viewer

  2. photoshop elements will also open them and its not that expensive. You may have to upgrade the camera RAW files from the adobe site if you have that

If you do not have elements or photoshop CS you should have gotten ViewNX with your nikon camera and that will let you open them

  3. Your best bet is to invest in Photoshop. It will open virtually any type of file you can imagine dealing with photos.  Plus, it gives you full control and manipulation of your photos to enhance, and make them perfect, or creative in any way!

    Thanks for reading!

  4. If you have Photoshop, you need to update the Camera Raw plugin that allows the software to open RAW images.

If you don't have Photoshop, you should have software that came with your camera that will allow you to open that camera's RAW files, which you can then save as jpegs, TIFFs or whatever.

OK, if you have a Nikon, the disc packed with your camera also should have Nikon's Picture Project software, which I know will open Nikon's version of RAW. Install that and you should be good to go.

  5. What program are you using to open them? Did your camera come with software to do this?
