Do they know other people are using their wireless?

How come it only works at certain times or in certain rooms, or goes in and out?

How much is it a month to just get wireless?

  1. If they didn't bother putting a password on their network chances are they don't know other people are using it.  Or they know and just don't bother.  It works in certain areas because thats where you can get the signal to the router.

You don't need to pay any monthly fees to have wireless internet.  You will need a wireless router to hook up to the cable modem or dsl modem and off you go.

  2. ● "When I am getting wireless from someone who lives near me how exactly does that work?"

◘ When you detect wireless from a neighbour, you can connect to it.

    ● "Do they know other people are using their wireless?"

◘ Yes, if they know what they're doing, they can find out that you are using their wireless (if they know about computers and whatnot).

    ● "How come it only works at certain times or in certain rooms, or goes in and out?"

◘ It only works in certain rooms because the wireless router is not located in your home, meaning that the signal strength is weak and walls can deteriorate the exchanging of packets.

    ● "How much is it a month to just get wireless?"

◘ To get wireless, just get cable internet, and connect the cable to a router. You can buy routers at your local Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Future Shop, or Circuit City. I would recommend a 54mbps router for a beginner.
