When I am on a site I will suddenly find myself back on ?

the desk top. This happens all to often and I want to fix it. I do nothing to make this happen. You expert opinion please.

go to a computer tech and ask him to see what the problem is

Try checking for virus or some malware in your pc. Try using a different browser and see if such an error happens. Check your RAM as well. Cause certain high running processes may be ended automatically if the ram cannot support it

I am using Vista and has been happening to me too. I have tried to find out what is going on and the only reason I can find is something screwy with my wireless mouse. Most of the time when it happens I swear I didn't move it. Then I remember to check for cat hair! It's normally there! One time it was just very staticky and dusty in the house from construction outside so I blew the dust off and it stopped. Humidity change can affect them too.

In your case you might need an update to windows itself or an update to the actual hardware you use with the system. Even when Windows is first installed, it can't know and have with it all known drivers at any given time. It is always good to go to each manufacturers web site of any add on and get updated drivers. (printer, mouse, scanner, USB, camera etc)
