I want a season ticket for the train but some days at work I might get on the train at 17:45 and the next day 18:15 but I don't want a season ticket that is only valid for a certain time everyday. I don't mind it being invalid after 20:00 or something but I can't have it only valid everyday at 18:00.

  1. As season ticket can be purchased for 1 week, then 1 month and extra days and weeks added right up to a yearly season which is the most cheapest peak time travel (also known as a gold card).

This entitles you to travel on any train over the reasonable route indicated on your ticket or advertised by the TOC to your destination between the start and end date on the ticket at anytime. It can also be used for any break in journey over that route, or as a part payment if you wish to travel to another destination where your season ticket crosses that journey.

If you opt for a Yearly season. Then you also get additional benefits of recieving the equivalent of a 1/3 off any extended travel for yourself and up to 3 other adults, child rate of £1 maximum if travelling with you.

The joy of a season ticket is that on average you save money.

A weekly 7 day ticket cost approx the same as a 4 day ticket

    A monthly approx 23 days

A yearly approx 200 days worth

All can be part redeemed if you cease work or have an extended break due to ill health.

Check with your local TOC for the best deal for you, sometimes you will be surprised by the differances in value.

Obviously, if you are travelling on an extended journey using one of the major distance carrier 'InterCity' services as they where known and travelling in the peak periods, then you may not be able to get a seat, again check with the TOC concerned if you are and obtain an idea which times are best to avoid if possible.

    Good Luck.

  2. when buying a season ticket whether it be weekly, monthly or yearly these are the same as Standard Open tickets which means you have no restrictions and can travel in both peak and off-peak period.so you can all trains all day

  3. u grt wot ya pay 4 tell um wot ya wont and thats wot ya get

  4. Its valid from the day of issue to the day it expires on trains operated by the relevant company between the designated points.

  5. No, you can use the ticket any time during the specified period.  For instance; if it is a monthly ticket you can use it as much as you like, and at any time during that month.  The same for a weekly, or a yearly.

  6. Example:

Season ticket Norwich to London Liv St from 1st June to 30th June.

From first train on the 1st to last train on the 30th you can spend a month riding up and down. You might get a bit bored but the option is there!!!!
