When I color my hair, is it supposed to be dry?

I'm using Herbal Essences Color Me Vibrant in Chocolate Velvet. I used it before a few months ago, but I can't remember if my hair is supposed to be dry or not and the directions don't really say.

Yes, your hair has got to be dry in order for the dye to work.

I recommend that you dont have any chemicals in your hair prior to the application, like hairspray or gel. If its not completely clean, try washing it, blow driying it and then appliying the hair dye.

Store bought hair color in general is not good for your hair!! I used to get a lot of hair color from the store but i made shure to get a product without Ammonia!! This is supposed to be the stuff that dries your hair out! The best way after all is to have it professional done! Hope this helps
