When I connect my ipod to the computer, it dosen't recognise the USB?

When I connect my ipod to the computer, it doesn't recognize the USB? I need to charge it and when I connect it to the computer that it belongs to and it is causing me a great deal of strife! the ipod does not charge and itunes just sits there pretending it dosent know what the h**l is in the USB. Please help a damsel in distress?

hmm.. i think your usb port's broken, have you tried plugging your ipod on other computers just to see if it can be detected? if it can, then the usb ports broken, but if it still cannot be detected then, maybe there's something wrong with the ipod cable or what's worse, the ipod itself.

you have to do some trial and errors to know the problem there, young one.
