When I copy a DVD using DVD Shrink 3.2 it will play on some of my home's DVD players but I get a Error message on some of the other systems. For example it will play on the self-contained bedroom TV but not the one in the Living Room.

  2. Hi Gregory,

If you are using +R DVDs try a -R and see if it works. If your player is older it might not support +R media.

The DVD+R and DVD-R are competing formats much like the old VHS and Beta formats in video tapes. Today most drives are Hybrid and handle both formats. They are usually labeled DVD+/-R. Older drives however might only support the -R format.

My personal experience has led me towards using the +R because it is slightly better at error handling so more tolerant of dirty or damaged media and also more tolerant to the subtle differences between players but in your case a -R might work in all your players.

    Norm.

  3. You have to convert your video to DVD format (VOB or MPEG-2) at first, then burn it to DVD, or else it can't play on general DVD player, if you don't know how to convert and burn DVD, you may take a look at this step by step guide
