Do you even know what copyleft is?  It's essentially saying anyone has the rights to reproduce the work and adapt it to their own means.  Though there are more details on that as there's full and partial copyleft rights.  Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyleft  If you want to copyleft something, that's your discretion on when you want to date it, when you allowed the copyleft, or the date of the creation of the work.  You could even put both: created (date), copyleft (date).  Something like that.
