It's becoming really frustrating to quickly find a website on my desktop,as there is about 200 of them, all looking practically identical.

I've got windows xp home edition sp 2.

Windows installer, msn installer,realplayer,1 clickmaintenance are a few websites that are on my desktop with their own icons.

I do use the favourites coloumn. But that has the same problem. Some of them have their own icon and some don't.

Dragging them from favourites to desktop doesn't change the icons either.

  1. right click the icon - shorcut - change icon

  2. RIght click the icon, select "properties," and then the Change Icon button.  Then browse to the icon file you want to use, or select one of the built in ones.

If the site has a favicon (ie: google's lower-case g,) XP will use it by default.
