Question:

When I do "preacher curls" at the gym, it is uncomfortable. how much weight do you use? How far down?

When I do the exercise, I feel the tendon in my elbow moving as I press against the stand. I can never go more than 3/4 of the way down without feeling extremely uncomfortable.

  1. That's how far your suppose to go down. If you extend your arm all the way, your elbows may lock up and could eventually cause you to strain/pull a tendon.

  3. well, you want to make sure your seat adjustment is right.If your seat is too low, it could hurt your arms.  also, I would not go down all the way.  As far down as you can go without locking out the arms. you could also put a towel behind the arm if it makes you more comfortable.

    they wont make your arms big anyways

    try straight barbell curls...much better
