  1. The ones in blue type have a Yahoo! profile or email (e.g. johndoe@yahoo.com).

The ones in black type do not have a Yahoo! profile -- in the member listing, you will see a button there for "Request profile" that can be used to send them a request to set up a Yahoo! profile.

  2. The ones in blue have a Yahoo ID associated with their membership in this Group.  The ones in black font do not.  Note that the latter can only send and receive Group messages via e-mail; they cannot use the web tools available to the Group members with a Yahoo ID (Files, Photos, Links, etc.).  If you want these latter members to be able to use these features, they have to associate a Yahoo ID with their membership themselves; you can't do it for them, but you can prompt them to do so by clicking Request Profile on the line of this members e-mail address.
