IMy major in college is stressful and get overwhelmed in my studies and isolate myself so that I just study, study, work out, and feel like I don't have time to socialize. I get hard on myself especially if I'm doing poorly in something. Then I think I shouldn't socialize at all and get this strange thought that I shouldn't have people or a bf in my life when Im struggling in something. How can I change this thought process. I've done this so long that I am currently alone.

  1. I had the same problem.

    Take everything slow.

Dont let things get to you.

  2. You sound similar to myself - you are an introvert by the classic definition.  Personality traits come out during periods of stress, and for you, it sounds like you are coping well for yourself.  You remain focussed on your studies, work out as a stress release, and minimize socialization that for introverts, drain precious energy.  It is only a problem if you shut everyone out all the time.  Someone that understands you will give you space during your stressful periods, but doing this for an extended period of time will only be a detriment.

To provide balance, book your social time.  That way, you know you have an hour or two to socialize, and then back to the grind.  Good luck!

  3. to be honest i think that you handle the situation well. When most people are stressed they go out and socialise and totally forget about everything else... thats when they make mistakes and do bad in school
