Do I keep the ticket, how do I claim a prize if I've won, who do I receive it?

(I can't do it online so I need to buy the ticket)

  1. What happens is you go check it where you bought it, see numbers don't come and you lose your money.

  2. Follow the instructions on the players card, hand over the cash to the clerk, wait for printouts. Check later to see if won via internet, 1800 toll free line, see drawing on tv. Usually $1.00 per game in US state lotteries.

  3. the scratch cards, you can pay and go. but the ones with the numbers you have to crossed , you need to pay it and get the automated ticket and wait for the draw date. if you won , you need to claim it to their office.

  4. The clerk enters the numbers in the lottery computer and it prints and records the sale. You get the printed ticket, which will show the numbers you picked. When the drawing occurs, if you have the winning numbers, the barcode on the bottom of the ticket will show it as the winner when it's scanned back into any lottery computer terminal.

The numbers are picked from a ball and vacuum arrangement in which the balls are tumbling around and a vacuum device pulls them up randomly.

If you opt for quick-pick numbers, the computer picks your numbers through the use of a random number generator...odds are about the same either way...slim and none...I like to play, but we must understand—the lottery is an investment program for those of us who aren't good with math...K ;o)

  5. You give your ticket to the cashier who runs your numbers into the computer and you pay him/her and receive a receipt. Then  you check your numbers against the winning numbers. Depending on what state you are in, you can either get the winnings from the store (in CA it is $499 or under, I think) or if it is over that you need to claim the prize from the state. Read the back of the receipt they give you....and DONT LOSE IT. If you lose your numbers/receipt, that is it.
