  1. nope

you need to get one of those military phones to get signal over there

  2. I think it probably will!!

  3. The cell phone transmission standard used in France is called GSM (Global System for Mobile Technology).

This system is used in the USA by Cingular and T-Mobile but not by Sprint. Therefore Sprint cells will not work in France.

The easiest thing to do is just rent a cell phone in France for your trip.

  4. I don't know if Sprint will, but Cingular does. It's pretty cheap to purchase a calling card at a newsstand. Just be sure to mention that it's for calling the US.

  5. it should be able to connect to a network, but the issue will be if your plan covers anything like that, becaause if not you could be in for some serious roaming and long distance charges. if you get the calling card, that would solve the problem of the long distance, but you would still have to deal with the roaming.

i would suggest signing up for a temp phone over there. a friend did it when i studied abroad over there, you can sign a short contract, and it will work fine - no roaming, no long distance problems. that's what i would suggest.
