I go to Michigan State University, and I'm majoring in Fisheries and Wildlife. I was wondering if by the time I graduate there will be Fisherie/Wildlife/Conservation Biology jobs availible?

With the economy in Michigan so bad, I'm nervous that when I graduate I won't be able to find work. I just want to be able to live a decent life someday. Any advice?

  1. If you are willing to move to where the jobs are, then yes.

  2. stay in school

  3. Try to inquire with the Bureau of Fisheries or the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. There are also some private firms the products of which are fish canning and they might need researchers for improvement of their processess and products.

  4. No because you won't graduate.

  5. Conservation departments are always looking for help.

  6. Environmental consultant firms are alwayw hiring biologists, apply with any you can find in your area when you graduate..they also tend to pay well.

  7. yesh!!!!!

  8. There are always entry level jobs available with both government and business.  You may have to bide your time for awhile until a position that really interests you opens up.  Kind of a pay-your-dues thing.

There will be jobs.  Do some volunteer work on the side or find other ways to enhance your background and skills if you're feeling insecure, it can't hurt.

  9. Assuming there are any fish or wildlife left...

you may want to check out the global warming section to see how some of your fellow countrymen are rapidly destroying your potential career with their uncaring attitudes!
