I am trying to get to the Golden Tulip Bellambriana Hotel at Via Lucca Passi 6. What train do I take? Is the station inside the airport or close by? I will arrive at 11:00 AM.

  1. To get to your hotel take the train to Termini station, then the underground, line A, direction Battistini. You should get down to "Cornelia" Station.

From there you can either walk for about 1Km or take a taxy. It is a very short ride, and you should not pay more than 15 Euro.

Please note that it will be difficult to just stop a taxy on the road. You can call the number +39 06 5551, and they'll send you one in about 10 minutes. They are more honest than most taxy drivers you'll find and they always accept credit card.

  2. There is a rail station inside the international airport "Leonardo Da Vinci" of Rome - Fiumicino. It's quite easy to get in the station because there is a system of tapis roulant that connects it with the various air terminal. There are different trains that leave from the airport station towards rome. First there is  the "Leonardo Express" that is a non-stop train to the Roma Termini Central Station (30 minutes about - leaves every 30 min about) . There are other regional trains to several secondary stations in rome. My advice is to don't take the taxi from the airport ( too expensive, especially for a single person ). You can take it from the Termini station, that's in the city centre or you can take the subway from Termini ( METRO A - Battistini direction ) and get out at the "Ottaviano" Stop that's nearby the Vatican city.

To give you an idea... Leonardo express costs 11 euro and the metro ticket is 1 euro... Taxi from fiumicino to rome costs 50 euro.

  3. Hello,

You can catch the express train from the airport to the termini station in Rome.  It comes every half hour and takes a half hour to get to the other station.  From there, you can get on the metro and get off at the vatican stop.  That will take less than 20 minutes.  The train station is inside the airport and is easy to get to.  Just follow the signs and the crowds.

You could also take a cab, but be careful to get an honest one.  Go to the taxi rank and take the one in the front.  If approached by someone offering a ride- turn them down.  They will charge you twice what they should.

  4. just notice that your hotel, is in via Luca Passi (not lucca) and is not near the vatican (not walking distance.. quite far)

is a different metro stop also:

you have to stop at Cornelia and the bus  889 for 8 stops

I hope was clear for you that the hotel was far from the center e from the vatican

    ciao

    Alessandro

  5. My advise take a taxi if you don't want wait hours.
