  1. Very few people will make the connection...unless you keep pointing it out.

  2. If I marry someone with a last name that starts wiht "S", my initials will be P.M.S.

If it really bothers you then keep your name, or hyphenate it.  Nobody is going to notice if you don't point it out.

  3. No, well not until you said it.  Both Nicole (I know 4 personally) and Simpson are very popular names.  I wouldn't worry about it.  But also, I wouldn't mention it to people.

  4. now it does.

  5. Does it matter?  You're obviously not OJ's ex wife, so why does it matter if you have the same name?  It's not like your name will be some killer's name, just a murder victim.  I don't think it's a big deal.

  6. At first I was confused and thought of Nicole Ritchey, until I read the OJ part. Actually I think her name was Nicole Brown Simpson, so the connection might not be automatic for *most* people.

  7. Well, it will only be that if you change your last name.

I'm not intending to change my last name - no reason you *have* to!

  8. Honestly, yes, but mainly because you pointed it out. I wouldn't worry about it. Nicole and Simpson are both very common names - there are probably hundreds if not thousands of women out there named that.

According to http://howmanyofme.com , there are 300 people in the U.S. alone named Nicole Simpson. If it rally bothers you, just keep your maiden name.

  9. Once you pointed it out it did. Just call yourself "Niki Simpson" instead.

  10. Nope, well not until you mentioned it.

  11. Why don't you go with both last names. Like Nicole maiden name-Simpson. Or like the other person said, start calling yourself Nikki.

I know several people who never changed their last name legally to their husbands. Not because of the last name itself, they just never made the time to go have it changed! If it really bothers you, maybe ask your husband if it's ok to stick with your maiden name. I'm sure he'd understand.
