When I move my mouse, my laptop wakes up from stand-by...?

I bought a wirless mouse for my notebook pc. It was on sale so I thought I'd but it. The problem I'm having is that whenever I put my computer to sleep/stand-by, it turns on when the mouse moves. Even when the mouse moves just an inch, it would wake up the computer. I find it annoying because when I shut the drawer from my desk, it vibrates and moves the mouse, just an inch, and it turns on my laptop. How can I stop this from happening? I don't want to have to remove the USB receiver all the time because my friend does that and now the slot is really loose. Is there some sort of settings that I can modify to stop the computer from waking up when the mouse is moved? Thanks for the help!

  1. Yes, the settings are in the device manager under the mouse device. Remove the check box that says to use your mouse to wake the computer from stand-by or sleep mode.
