  1. Yup! That is one thing I hate about delivery charges  - most of the time the charge goes to the restaurant and the driver doesn't see  a penny of it.

  2. Yes. The world is out to get everyone's money these days, they love to rip paying customers off any way they can.

Considering they only drive a few miles away from their shop to a customer.... if that.

Not like they waste any cash anyway.

  3. Well, I guess you don't technically have to, but it would be slightly rude not to.  The delivery charge doesn't go to the driver.  It goes to the company.  The only extra money a driver gets, if he/she gets any at all, is the tip that you give them.

  4. well you should, but you can call ahead of time and ask about the charges.

  5. of course..always..

  6. If you don't want to pay the delivery charge or tip the driver, you can still go down to the pizza place and pick it up yourself.  The driver usually doesn't get any of the delivery charge, so you still should tip.

  7. Yep, they are still providing a service.

  8. If there is a delivery charge, I just deduct it from the tip.  I normally tip about $5 on a pizza delivery, so if they tack on a delivery charge of $2, I tip $3.  If the driver doesn't receive the delivery charge, that's ridiculous and he/she should talk to their boss about that.  They usually use their own vehicles anyway...it would make no sense to charge a delivery charge and not give it to the driver.

  9. yes.

  10. You don't have to, I guess. I do though. The pizza guy shouldn't have to pay for the gas to deliver your pizza. If you had to pick up the pizza and bring it home, you could not tell the gas station that you did not want to pay for the gas you used to go get your pizza and come back home.

Pizza delivery people don't make much income other than tips, so this is one time I do not mind tipping people. I work in a research lab and we love people who deliver food and drinks to us.

  11. I hear ya I ordered pizza they other day and they said there was $??? for delivery charge and I was like WHAT??? I think its g*y. and was very temped not to tip but its not the drivers rule. so ya still tip

  12. You dont "gotta" tip the driver. But it would be rude of you not to. If any of the delivery charge goes to the driver, its a small amount. Generally only 25%.  A delivery driver does more work then a waitress, puts more wear and tear on their car, and is at greater risk of being robbed, all to bring your pizza to your door. They have to meet on customers turf, and not their own. They have to change oil, brakes, and tires and an accelerated rate. A couple of dollars isn't going to hurt, and if it is, you have no business ordering pizza when you could go to the grocery stores frozen food section and get a frozen pizza for $4.

  13. Yep.

    It's only fair.

  14. Its your prerogative. The Delivery Charge goes to the company nothing goes to the driver. Its up to you to give a tip or not.

  15. Yes.  The delivery charge is for maintenance of either motorcycles or cars and the gas... the deliverer doesn't receive any money from it.  So, please give them some tip!
