Are they bonding with me by doing this? Do they seem me as their mother? Is this a sign of submission?

  1. They do it to their mothers to kneed milk out =) it's loving, trusting and affectionate! Mine do it all the time!

But if you're tapping or rubbing their back right by the tail, it apparently triggers senses that 'turn them on', and they will start going all wobbly and funny!

  2. they love you.  My (fixed) male cat aged about 10 years recently started to sleep against my lower legs every night, and every morning walks up to me and 'pounds' my upper arm, breast, and rubs his face against my face.  He was not this loving when younger.  Mind you, we have had a fairly cold winter in Melbourne, Australia, this year-that is, cold by Australian standards, so I'm not sure if my cat loves me or I'm simply a very good source of heat in winter.  (I think my husband might be working  on the same basis).

  3. no, no, and no.

most experts agree it just means they are happy.

they knead when they nurse, like a farmer milks a cow. when they are with you it reminds them of a happy childhood.

  4. Awww...it's a sign of love! Kittens do this to their mother's breast, to stimulate milk. When an adult (or weaned) cat does this to us, it's a sign of affection and love. Lucky you! :)

  5. cats are cute :)
