When I play PS3 games on a 26"/32" HDReady TV, do I need 720p or 1080p? Is there a difference?

Are most PS3 games 720p or 1080p and what will the new upcomming games be? Im new to all this HD stuff :)

  1. There are a number of 1080p games from SCEA's first party developers.

    A number of third party games are native 720p content, but I believe most are striving to deliver 1080p content for the ultimate HD gaming experience.

    I don't think you can get a 26" 1080p HDTV, but if you have a 32" 1080p set and you're sitting more than about 5-6ft away, you won't be able to resolve the detail of a 1080p signal and you should save the money and get a 720p TV.

    If you're within 5ft of a 32" 1080p set then you WILL reap the benefits of the additional resolution.

    This is a good chart to show screen size and what the recommended viewing distance is to resolve particular resolutions.
