Question:

When I power up the computer, none of the peripherals will work?

The monitor says no signal, keyboard lights up (initially but goes blank)and mouse will do nothing. I was able to boot up with my boot disk (XP) initially and repair. But within a couple of days the same thing happened again. I ran spy ware/anti virus and have since reformatted the hard-rive, but still the same situation. After a couple of days the peripherals don't work and I'm left with nothing. I'm currently left with trying to reboot with boot disk and hopefully it will boot (doesn't always happen). Is this a hardware issue? If so what? The computer seems to power up normally .

  1. yup looks like a hardware problem to me.

    are you getting beeps?

this is a little complicated case. if your comp is under warranty best if you sent it back to them for replacement, if not

    try the following

check the hard drive - check the cables, like if its sharing cable with the cd/dvd rom, try seperating them, sometimes this will cause conflict.

check the ram - sometimes if your ram is damage, things like this happens, if you have 2 rams try removing one and check which one is damage. your you can use a memtest www.memtest.org to check

check your video adapter (if your using agp) if its plugin properly.

or last, it could be your motherboard, check the capacitors, if they are already blown, it means it needs to be replace.

  2. It does seem like a hardware issue, try calling the manufacturer and discuss the problem with him.
