  1. Those are two separate issues.  They are not related to one another.

If your hard drive is not being recognized, please make sure that you have connected all of the cables properly and that it is connected firmly to the PSU cable. Also please make sure that it is not of a capacity that is too large for your motherboard to handle

If when you insert a CD or DVD into your drive, it does not autoplay, this is a software issue.  To enable autoplay on Windows XP, please do the following:

    1) Open "My Computer"

    2) Right click on your CD/DVD drive and click on "Properties"

    3) Click on the "Autoplay" tab

    4) Configure autoplay to your liking - you can choose what to do for different types of files.

  2. Run CHKDSK

  3. Your hard drive is a sealed unit - you can't insert a CD into it !

If you mean your CD Writer / CD ROM / DVD Drive, open up "My Computer" and check that it is being recognised by the system.

Switching the whole system off and on again often works wonders !

  4. i cant tell u how to fix it but im on a mac....

but what i know u can do it:

go to start>my computer>then you will see all the drives>double click the 'e' drive, and it will play it...

  5. You can't put something in the hard drive which is this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_drive

When you put a cd in the OPTICAL UNIT  it should autoplay. This has been disabled on your pc. To fix this open My Computer and RIGHT click on the drive you want to autorun. Click on Properties then on Autoplay and follow the instructions.

  6. You cannot insert a CD into a hard drive.
