When I put my Sunglasses on, the Floor appears closer than it really is so I walk weirdly- ?

The sunglasses are Tommy Hilfigers and quite expensive..

Thing is I'm nearsighted and I wasn't wearing my lenses on the occasions this happened..

I asked the shop assistants if there was a possibility the glasses were made for near/farsighted people and they said no.

Has this ever happened to anyone else ?

  1. well i'm nearsighted  and i especially get that feeling when i get new glasses but if you weren't wearing your lenses then it could just be the possibility that (like when you get a new pair of glasses) you're not used to looking through a lens like that    it always feels to me like the floor is closer than it is when ever i'm not wearing my glasses

  2. well ive got these sunglasses... unfortunately they aren't tommy hilfiger but some new look cheapy ones!

Anyway im convinced that when i put them on my vision becomes a little bit magnified, so it might just be the case with sunglasses!

Try going into an opticians and asking them if they can test if your sunglasses have a prescription in them (they should do it for free as it is such a quick job!)

At least then you'll know if your going mad or not!!!

  3. Don't worry you're not going crazy!

What happens is, if you're nearsighted, you will have glasses with concave lenses. They compensate for the problem, but they also make things look smaller and further away. Eventually, your eyes/brain get accustomed to this to the point that when you don't wear your glasses, things look like they are larger and thus, closer to you.
