When I restart/start my pc up after the dell symbol the screen says hit "F1" key to continue "F2" for setup?

after this when I hit F1 the pc goes to a screen that asks what I want to open and it gives 2 choices, both the same name, but one not reachable. Both are Windows XP. the first loads windows the second gives an error message. How can I get rid of these probs. and go right to startup? Thank you.

hit F2 then go to the advanced column using the keyboard to navagate ure way.... then there shud be a scetion sumwhere saying if it shud ask u startup type question on startup.... disable this :P

This occures when the computer think s there are more than one operating system instaled. IT happend to me and it took me a wile to figure it out, but To fix it is farly simple. Turn on the computer and go the chouces menu with the two choices.

Make shure you note wich choice you pick. Start windows, and go to my computer. click on system information in the blue strip. From the new window, click on the advanced tab. there will be a start up and revovery portion, click settings. Click on the Defalt opperating system control. Pick the one that you chose from the start. Windows will automaticly choose this one from now on.

Now to prevent it from showing you the option to select the other. simply uncheck the box for time to display operating systems.
