even if I haven't eaten for up to 4 hours :|

Is there any way to stop this from happening I need to start running to train for a triathlon. But these pains are awful.

I'm eating the right sort of food. But I can't run when these pains are happening.

----

NB: The reason I say up to 4 hours is because I haven't tried after that because I eat again.

  1. Stretch. Maybe because your not used to running? Or you might be running too much?

You might just need to calm down with the training and train with something else that doesn't make you have the stitch, but keeps you fit and healthy.

Otherwise consult a doctor, or just continue through the pain.

  2. that guy whos aid to eat bannas before u run is wrong if u eat bannas b4 u run ur adding lactic acid which burns ur legs u eat bannas after u run to replenish potassium which brings me tot he next part of my advice POTASSIUM POTASSIUM POTASSIUM eat it as much as u can potatoes spinach and bannas eat all of them at least 6 hours before so u dont add any lactic acid; u also need to avoid store gatorade in the bottles it is marketed as a soft drink and will also fuel cramping u need to use the powder mix and follow the direcitons it is formulated for sports u also need to do abdominal workouts every other days and some type of abdominal streching

  3. Before running try eating some bananas, they help with side stitches.

  4. Always stretch your muscles before running or any strenuous acitivity

  5. Stitches happen to me when I start too fast.

I've tried this and it only works about half of the time.

Take really deep cleansing breaths and on about the third breath out take your fingers and stick them in under your rib cage on the side that it hurts as far as you can stand it.
