Question:

When I run I go running I get strong pain in the lower calf, right above the ankle. Why? and How can I fixit?

its in both legs, in the muscles on the back side

  1. thats not good.

    you probably just strained it, if you feel your muscles pulling.

    stretching is very important before you run, but you NEVER stretch cold.

    jog at least 1/2 mile or do some striders to warm up your muscles before you stretch them, and you are way less likely to strain/pull your muscles.

    also, take a good 10-15 min. afterwords to stretch.

    once you're done running, take a nice, hot shower to loosen up your muscles, and then you can try icing them: 20 min. on, 20 min. off, repeat. or you could wrap a hot pad around them and then stretch them.

    if the strong pain continues, stop physical activity and see your doctor. it's better to recover now then for it to get worse and take more time recovering later.

  2. check with your doctor, it might be you pulled something, or another small problem like that, but maybe you fractured it...a much bigger problem
