Hi, I consider myself a cross trainer with running something I do 3 times per week. My distance ranges from 3-5 miles a pop. Every time I run my legs feel like I have 50lbs weights tied to them... I can't seem to figure out why?

  1. what you are feeling is lactic acid. this usualy builds up in your legs due to hard workouts, not streching or a combination of bowth. make sure you strech properly before each run hold each strech for at least 25 seconds. i would explain some streches to you but that would be hard so i suggest you ask someone about diffirent streches you can do if you dont know any. try focusing more on streching the muscles or part of your leg that feels heavy while you are running. it could also be because you are doing a hard workout. this is good it means that you are pushing yourself and the more you run the better your legs will be able to handle the lactic acid so that you wont feel this anymore. it should probably pass away as you become a more experienced runner. good luck and i hope this has helped you

  2. It could possibly be your running shoes. I had ones that were really heavy and didn't know it until I was out running (I also wore them for every day use.) Try a different shoe maybe.

  3. i have felt like this before...i think its because my leg muscles were too bulky. or have you just started running?
