Question:

When I stare hard at trees, I can see a sort of clear outline around the leaves and branches. What is that?

It's pretty narrow, and makes everything in the "outline" paler in color. I can only see it around trees and large plants from a distance. Does it have something to do with the oxygen they're emitting?

    oxygen is invisible
